Appointments

The initial consultation

The process starts with an initial consultation, during which I will learn more about you, any problems which brought you to seek therapy and what your goals for a course of therapy might be. Based on this initial meeting, I will outline some recommendations and suggestions which may include working together on an ongoing basis (short or long term) in weekly therapy. There is no obligation to commit to ongoing therapy following the initial consultation.

Ongoing therapy

Following the initial consultation, based on your preferences and the recommendations outlined, we will collaboratively decide (and agree) on the frequency and number of sessions before commencing work together. This might depend on the therapeutic model, your goals and availability.

Fees and cancellation policy

The initial consultation must be paid for (by bank transfer) on the day of booking, prior to the appointment, in order to confirm the appointment. Payment for ongoing therapy sessions must be made before or on the day of the appointment unless otherwise agreed, and can be paid for via bank transfer.

There is a 48-hour (in working days) cancellation policy; should you be unable to attend an appointment, the session will be charged for in full unless sufficient notice is provided. Where treatment is funded by private health insurance, an employer and/or as part of a legal process, cancellations with fewer than 48 hours’ notice (or failures to attend) are likely to be counted as one of your designated appointments. Several insurance companies do not cover the fee for sessions cancelled without at least 48 hours’ notice. In such instances, the individual will be liable to cover the cost of any sessions cancelled without at least 48 hours’ notice.

Please note that if you cannot make an appointment - and provide notice - I will do my best to offer you an alternative time for that week (depending on availability).
